IIDD, Moondance: Friday, October 19th

I think that to get under the surface and really appreciate the beauty of a country, one has to go there poor. -Grace Moore, actress and singer (1898-1947)
Patrick James Dunn No longer The Lost Burritos or Los Horridos but rather the Debonair, Dashing Downtown Dudes! Do you just dazzle the babes into buying you drinks and Rolex watches? I'm bringing my bow tie at Christmas, believe me I am. I want in on this action, Lads!!! Love Poppa!!!

Works for me. Whatever ride you choose is good by me. Lemme know the start gate and time.

Forecast. Is holding fair, at least at this ungodly hour.

Maggie, relax. I will have imitation (faux) salmon. The fickle feline won't even notice W

Hi Lads!

If it is fine with you I'd like to meet at the Heartbreak Terrace at 1:30pm and we can finalize route details when we stop for lattes at Captain Barnacle's Bistro! Cheers, Patrizzio!

PS: I'll be back home to look at email, after Past Times, so let me know if this works for you both. Thanks.

PPS: Faux Friend, Maggie will scratch you terribly if she discovers the fish is ersatz! The Fickle Feline's snorkel nose is simply amazingly sensitive!!!

P,

Lift off at HB at 1:30 -- works fine for me.

Fussy feline finds faux fish fien-dish. F-ing ell.  W

Gents,
    I'll be there. Ray

Dear Peletonii!

Raymondo and Giggster turned up at the appointed time and we made for SP, doing a Seawall circuit. On return, Robo Man waved goodbye just past Reckless but Whirlissimo and I headed on out to UBC. Abandoned by Giorgio at the base of the Forshore Hill I did an abbreviated UBC circuit that gave me 63.3K by the time I was home. Felt really strong so had I had more time and light I think I might have been able to break 100K. Still a wonderful sensation when one's body responds, seemingly effortlessly! Cheers, Il
Conduttore!

Hello!
So this is what you do when all the leaves in the yard are raked up and Daddy is at work! Take care, Ariane

Hi Ariane!

Sorry I've taken so long to reply to both your kind and thoughtful sympathy card, as well as to the more than delightful "Leaves" v
ideo! What memories it evokes!
Fondestos to you and Doug and the boys from Cora Lee. Cheers, Patrizzio!

  She said yes!!!

  • Nadienka Wyss O M freaking G! Congrats :))
  • Patrick James Dunn "Yes" to which question?
  • Nicole Marie We are engaged :))) Marvin got a little excited and posted it without us having the chance to tell anyone
    Hi Gran Duggaccio!

Thanks again, to you and David, for doing such a wonderful job at Mom's Memorial! Truly deeply appreciated. Cora Lee will try to pin you down for a dinner date so we can thank you both properly.

Your "Sigh" at cartoon of Malala makes me think you need a touch of humour to cheer yourself up!
    Cheers, Patrizzio!

    Hello!

So this is what you do when all the leaves in the yard are raked up and Daddy is at work! Take care, Ariane

    Hello Patrick
Are you ok?  You usually reply to emails so quickly  I am getting a bit concerned. If you're busy just send a quick I'm OK xx

    Hi Darling Penny!

Thanks for the concern! I have been meaning to reply to your previous email but it's been a whirlwind here. Yes, I'm fine. We had Mom's Memorial last Sunday and it went very well. It was something that had occupied us, as you can imagine, ever since she died. Into this mix I was volunteering at the Van Int Film Fest for past two weeks and then this week it is the Van Writers Festival. Cora Lee and I are running the small bar at Studio 1398, one of the venues. Heard Chris Cleave last night, a wonderful person and simply an amazing author. He lives in London. Do you know his work? Saw him a few minutes ago at the Granville Island  Hotel as I walked Simonetta Agnello Hornby there after she signed a couple of her books for me. She lives in southeast London and said to call when we are there next summer as we are doing a house exchange in Cornwall, as I might have mentioned.

More of all that later as two friends are coming by shortly and we plan to cycle over Lions Gate and then around Stanley Park. Weather has been terrible of late and we are trying to take advantage of a brief dry spell until rain returns, with a vengeance, this weekend. Have to be back to shower and change before 6:30pm as our shift starts then. Only five minutes away so very convenient. Two Scottish authors A.L. Kennedy and John Burnside will be talking at our venue. Met John this past Wednesday and invited him back to our place for some malt. Another remarkable writer and fascinating individual. Delighted that the two of them will be on at "our bar"! Funnily enough, I bumped into both Chris and the two Scots just after I left Simonnetta at the GIH. Had never met Kennedy before. Unfortunatley she dosn't drink malt!

You and your brood sound as busy as ever. Glad things are working out for everyone. No, I haven't heard from Jaimie since he phoned to offer condolences. He didn't mention any ill health other than that Pat is having some problems with her legs/feet, I think. I see you are on Linkedin, as is Lauren. Haven't even had time to answer your request as I had been meaning to include a bit of news! Will do so shortly!

Time to run. Fondestos and Cheers, Parizzio!
P, I know your dance card is pretty full but you might want to take this in if you can. Right in your hood-You can stumble over and get dinner for an extra $5.

We have seen a few 'house concerts' in North Van and they have been fun and wonderful - musically. It is quite intimate: You meet some people and can chat with the players. All proceeds to artists.

We can't make this one. W
