IIDS, GD: Tuesday, August 21st

Elvira always lied first to herself before she lied to anybody else, since this gave her a conviction of moral honesty. -Phyllis Bottome, novelist (1884-1963)

Laurel and Carl!

Jacquie, Laurel and Chuckerini, June Lake, California!

Patrick: You do get around!

Last weekend we "gave away" (ha!) our daughter, Laurel, to another Portlander, Carl Kloos, in a ceremony at June Lake, CA -- high atop June Mountain. Wonderful party with about 110 guests, high on champagne and low oxygen. The couple live in Pasadena and are heading this week to Greece and Turkey for the honeymoon.

Us? We got a couple of days in Yosemite and at Mt. Shasta on the way home. Both beautiful, but not Santorini!

Take care ... The Chuckster
Hi Chuckerini!

Congratulations to you and Jacquie! Parents are almost as beautiful/handsome as the bride and groom!
Patriçio,

I continue to worry about you … are you being honest with your shrink?

Patriçio,

Honesty is not synonymous with truth!

Greetings from Nanoose!

Leaving shortly for the ferry.

Locked up the wine cellar with other valuables (guitars etc..)

Left a bottle of the 2007 for you on the King Bed beside the downstairs bathroom-enjoy!

Also some single malts in kitchen cupborad to sample...

Hope you can stay a couple of days when we return-we can ease the pressure on the wine room and enjoy a meal or two.

Use our room while you are here-Beth will have the bed made up for you, and enjoy the hot tub.

Email, us with any questions. Cheers, Gregg & Francesca

Hi Kathryn!

Cora Lee and I are delighted to bar tend again, this Festival.

Patrizio,

You are certifiable! J

Thanks so much for your willingness to bartend at 1398 again this year. It is a big commitment, for which we are very very thankful.

As you know, there is no real likelihood that you can pop into the event after closing up your bar/concession, but one can always hope!

Talk to the stage manager,  or buy tix, that’s all I can suggest. Kathryn

Dear Patrick,

You have been assigned and scheduled as a volunteer for the 2012 Vancouver Writers Fest.

As soon as possible, please log in to myVolunteerPage.com and click on the Assignments tab to see details about the activities and shifts to which you have been assigned.
If these shifts are good for you, please check CONFIRM.
If you are unable to confirm a shift or shifts, please check DECLINE.
If your availability, interests, custom fields, or qualifications have changed, please update your profile.

Since I have done the assigning based on Patrick's email of 21 Aug, rather than through the scheduling software sign up process, undoubtedly you BOTH need to go into your profiles on myVolunteerPage.com and update as necessary. Most important is that you answer YES to the first question in the Volunteer Qualifications page: Are you available to volunteer for our 2012 festival?
Looking forward to working with both of you again!

Many thanks, Kathryn & Lili

P,

Good riding lad – impressive stats. As Ray says, you may as well do the Whistler -- Fondo.

We had three in the peloton this morning: Mark joined us for our early morning ride to Iona – great ride but for a little head wind returning from Iona.

When are you expecting to be back on the rain coast?

Safe travels, W

Fabulous meal at Scopa in Healdsburg

    • Patrick James Dunn Anybody help themselves to the next table's food?

At Scopa again. So fabulous we had to try the whole menu!!!

      Hi Patrick and Corinne!

Kathryn passed you along to me as you'd said you both would be interested in
the Granville Island program guide distribution... Fantastic! :)

The guides are here as are the writing contest brochures... Posters, not yet
but hopefully by the time you get back from whatever adventure you've been
      on.

Let me know when you might be coming by for the first round, and we can go
      from there. Sandra
