In the Soviet Union, capitalism triumphed over communism. In this country, capitalism triumphed over democracy. -Fran Lebowitz, author (b. 1950)

    • Patrick James Dunn ‎'Ain't never too, too early for the blues in the Cat Vomatorium! Three times this morning already. I believe it's a result of post-traumatic stress over your departure on Monday and Nana's leaving for Duncan, VI, to see Jessica this morning. She stay overnight witht hte Millionaires who popped by last evening. We had Mr Grizzle/Janice, Robo Ray/Sylvia and Whirlygig/Kerry for a bbq. Coriandre's famous wild salmon with soy sauce/bourbon marinade. Green salad from Ray's garden and a gluten-free crumble from Kerry. Grogg and Lurch were wine-tasting in the Okanagan and stayed at the GI Hotel Tuesday and last night.

P,

This should work for me. Let me know how and where we meet up. Maybe you should call me from the store when you are ready to ride and we can meet on the foreshore? W

George,
Just phoned Pat to say I couldn't make it this morning. Would like to have been in on the inaugural ride. Hope we can ride again before you head off.
Ray

Ray,

The only inaugural ride that counts is the peloton -- with three riders needed for a quorum.

Maybe we can get a ride in on Friday – that may be my only free day before rolling outa town.

Enjoy the day. See you at the Islay Inn. G

The Vines of Mendoza, plowing the rows and installing the trellis system.

Each row in a vineyard needs to be plowed. The purpose of plowing is to ensure a productive life for the vines and roots. Using an attachment to a tractor ensures even rows and the strength of the machine breaks up any compact layers or stone that could impede the growth of the vines’ roots. This also makes it easier to install posts for the trellis system.

The trellis system is the most familiar sight on a vineyard. Each one of the seemingly endless rows of posts, wires and vines needs to be placed by hand. The recent expansion includes 40,000 posts...

...and 1,125 miles of wire.
